Adding Your First Card

There are two ways to add a card to your collection:

Method 1 — Search

Tap Portfolio → tap the "+" button → type the card name → select from search results → enter your purchase price and condition → tap Save.

Method 2 — Scanner

Tap the centre Scan tab → point your camera at the card → confirm the match → enter your purchase price → tap Save.

Tip: You can enter a quantity greater than 1 if you own multiple copies of the same card.

5

Understanding Your Dashboard

Total Value

Estimated current market value of all the cards in your collection.

Cost Basis

The total amount you actually paid for your cards.

Unrealized P&L

The difference between current estimated value and your cost basis. Positive means you're up; negative means you're down.

P&L %

Your percentage gain or loss relative to your total cost basis.

Price disclaimer: PocketDex sources price data from pokemontcg.io, which aggregates TCGPlayer market pricing. All prices are estimates and are not real-time. They should not be treated as financial advice. Actual sale prices vary based on condition, platform, and negotiation.

6

Setting Up Your First Lot (Dealers)

Lots let dealers track bulk purchases with automatic value-weighted cost basis distribution.

  • Tap Portfolio → Lots → 'New Lot' → enter a lot name, the total purchase price, and the cards included.
  • PocketDex automatically distributes the cost basis across cards in proportion to their market value.
  • Example: You buy a box lot for $200. Higher-value cards receive a larger share of the cost basis; commons receive a smaller share — reflecting the relative value you "got" from each card.
7

Making Your First Marketplace Listing

  • Tap any card in your Portfolio → 'List for Sale'.
  • Set a fixed price, toggle 'Make Offer', or mark the card 'For Trade'.
  • Add condition notes and up to 6 photos if desired.
  • Tap Publish — your listing goes live in the marketplace and is visible to buyers in your local area.
